Community Involvement Week and MasterPlan Consultation

April 2nd, 2009

Thank you to everyone who attended our Community Involvement Week at The Base and the session held at Alma House recently. The feedback you gave on the questionnaire at the exhibition has been very useful.  We received almost 200 completed questionnaires in total.

First Wessex has also met with all but 50 residents in the regeneration area of My North Town and intends to meet everyone, including leaseholders, by the middle of April.  As a result of the questionnaires and individual meetings, we have produced an update to our Frequently Asked Questions for residents and another one specifically for leaseholders to answer your additional questions.  This will be mailed out shortly and will also be available on this website.

Vision Exhibition

Residents generally liked the “Vision” exhibition and most of the discussions centred around the timing of the different construction phases, concern for older people on the estate, security of the area, traffic, community facilities, play areas and parking.  Our Design Team is analysing the feedback from the questionnaires and the individual meetings and during the following weeks will be preparing a Draft MasterPlan to be shown to everyone at the end of the month.

MasterPlan Consultation Event

The events will again be held at The North Town Base.  Residents and community groups will be invited to comment on the plans for My North Town. Everyone is welcome and you can drop in at any time to give us your views.

The Draft MasterPlan drop in events are planned for:

Tuesday 21 April 5pm-8.30pm

Wednesday 22 April 9am-4pm

Thursday 23 April 5pm-8.30pm

Friday 24 April 9am-4pm

Saturday 25 April 9am-4pm

There will be a separate session planned for tenants of our Alma House older persons’ housing scheme.

Further Planned Events

MasterPlan – Spring

After the draft MasterPlan events at the end of April, The Design Team will revise the plans in the light of comments received.  The final version of the MasterPlan will be published in May together with more detailed proposals for the first phase of works.

This will be an opportunity for residents and others to comment further and identify any issues that could improve the scheme before we submit it to Rushmoor Borough Council as a planning application
